Unleash Your Power

Simple Steps to Showcase Yourself
Simple steps to stand out in your work and showcase yourself

There are five simple steps to showcase yourself in your work, business, etc and really stand out. The first thing is to figure out and be clear on what is it that you do and understand what you can do for people whether you are an entrepreneur or a business leader or working for someone. Understand why people should care about what you do. Be careful with features versus tangible benefits. What do you actually do for someone and what are the outcomes and stop worrying about the credentials.

Second thing is to understand who is it that you really serve. You should learn who your target is or who your niche is. Think about who lights you up and who are the people that you love working with and you should really understand them and what they are thinking, what are their worries and fears, what do they want and what keeps them up at night. When you understand this, you can talk to them and they are like ‘ wow, this person knows me, they get me, etc’. And then people will hire you or promote you, give you raises, do business with you or buy from you.

Number three is to be aware and be able to articulate why you are different and unique. Whether it’s sharing a past success story of yourself or your clients or someone’s feedback on you, let them know why you are better. People will pay more for something that’s significantly better and gives them better results. Even if someone’s got their foot in the door, people will choose you if you can give them enough of a difference that often comes with asking questions. So have a worthwhile conversation and really connect with them.

Next is aim to serve versus get. There’s a saying called givers gain. So have no connection to the outcome because it’s going to create a sense of desperation and it does not appear powerful and confident which is what’s going to help you get what you want. If someone wants your help, ask them if they need you and then aim to serve them best instead of thinking about the outcomes as it comes out as desperation  and it is a stinky business as you’ve probably heard this saying and it will have people run like hell. What you chase will run.

Number five is providing great service to people. There is no it’s not my job kind of thing whether you are working on your own or working for someone. Be of great service to people. Go above and beyond and give first to get value. Remember to get support or mentoring. No one achieves greatness on their own, it’s impossible. Arnold Schwarzenegger did a cool talk on Youtube. He said, ” It’s a lie that I am a self-made man “. He was like “tell me whatever you want but don’t call me a self made man, I have had a lot of people who helped me succeed as every successful person in life”.

Finally, a bonus for you is to connect with your purpose and understand who you want to be, how do you want to be different, what difference do you want to have made when you leave the earth that you die happy and fulfilled. Remember what you want to be known for and let this guide you on all the above points.
