Unleash Your Power

Boost Your Health

Lemons, and Limes, are incredible for you – they have a low sugar content, are packed with vitamins and minerals and have numerous health benefits for you. Benefits include weight loss, boosting your immune system, reducing inflammation, and increasing/enhancing digestion

Weight Loss

One  reason to add lemon or lemon juice to you water is to lose weight. Pectin fiber, present in these citrus fruit, helps fight hunger cravings. Drinking lemon water can also help keep your liver clean. This is important because the liver metabolizes fat and secretes bile. Together, these small advantages can help you lose weight over time. Another way it helps you lose weight is that it replaces sugary drinks, since your water will taste better and give you some variety in your liquids (herbal tea is excellent too!).

Reducess inflammation

Good news for those who suffer from inflammation. Adding lemon juice to your water can help significantly reduce inflammation. Lemons have anti-inflammatory properties. They also help neutralize acidity which is the main cause of tissue inflammation. Lemon juice is acidic outside of the body but once metabolized, it becomes alkaline. Alkalinity reduces acidity and thus, reduces inflammation.

Increases and enhances your digestion

Lemon juice is a digestive aid, especially when taken 15-20 minutes before a meal in a some water. It stimulates your body to produce stomach acid, and digestive enzymes, and encourages the production of bile, which helps us break down fats. Feeling bloated or gassy after meals? Try lemon juice before a meal! Proper digestion goes a long way to help you lose weight, and to help you feel better and have more energy!

Boosts your immune system

Drinking lemon or lime water can also help keep your immune system strong. Due to its antibacterial properties, drinking lemon/lome water can help soothe a sore throat. Lemon/lime water is a great support to the lymphatic system, which works in conjunction with your immune system to trap and eliminate pathogens. The vitamins and minerals in lemons and limes also has a direct effect in boosting your immune system. Also, as per above, it helps digestion in the stomach, which can neutralize and sterilize incoming food and bacteria, viri, etc.

Osteoporosis

Although lemon or lime juice  are technically acidic, once assimilated and used by your body, they create an alkaline environment, protecting you from, and even help turn back the clock on osteoporosis, osteopenia, cancer, and many other conditions. These conditions, and disease in general, prefers an acidic environment in the body/blood. If you keep yout body alkaline with things like citrus (other than orange juice due to the high sugar content) and lots of greens, you will help protect your body from many, many different ailments. And it’s

Go fresh!

Whether adding lemon/lime wedges or pure juice to your water, make sure to use fresh fruit.  Stay away from juice concentrate that is sold in stores. These pre-bottled juices contain preservatives and other additives that have negative effects on the body. Processing during manufacturing eliminates natural enzymes, vitamins and antioxidants found in lemon juice, for this reason, it’s best to use the  natural, fresh-squeezed fruit.
